Revelations

He sat there, staring at me

With eyes full of curiosity

His gaze, intense and bold

As if trying to unfold

The secrets of my soul

The thoughts in my mind

He stared, unafraid

Of the truth he might find

But his stare, it was not kind

It was judgmental and cold

It sought to define

And to control

I felt his eyes on me

Like a weight on my chest

I wanted to scream

To break free from this test

But I knew that his stare

Came from a place of fear

A fear of the unknown

A fear of what's not clear

So I held my head high

And I stared back at him

With a strength and a courage

That I didn't know I had within

I refused to be defined

By his gaze, by his stare

I am more than his labels

I am more than his fear

And as I met his eyes

I saw a flicker of doubt

A hint of uncertainty

A glimmer of self-doubt

For in that moment of staring

We were both exposed

We both saw something

That we never had before

We saw each other's humanity

We saw each other's soul

We saw that beneath our labels

We are all the same, whole
