Healing

Earlier that day, she painted something

A willow tree outside her kitchen window

Each brush stroke reinvents the home

Of the newly hatched babies.

But on a different day, she may have remembered

Willow trees are invasive

Their roots grow so aggressively

They can destroy the foundations of a structure

Maybe even her house

But she pushed these thoughts aside

Focused on the beauty of the tree

And the peace it brought her

In this moment of healing.

For in the act of painting

She found solace and release

From the pain and the struggles

That weighed on her mind.

And as the brush moved across the canvas

She felt her heart begin to mend

The colors blending and swirling

In a dance of hope and renewal.

For in this moment of creation

She found the strength to keep going

To heal, to grow, to thrive

And to face the world with courage.
